our family reunion in July.
Illinois, at a yard sale for $20.00. It was is sad shape, covered
in bird poop and dirty. They had Jim Potter of Henning Illinois,
restore it for them. He took off 135 pieces of iron , refinished
the trunk and put in 744 new nails. His wife , Doris, refinished
the inside. It had evidently been used to transport a musical
instrument at some point...maybe being custom built for this
purpose. 49" X 39" solid oak.
anyone can tell me why it went so high I would appreciate
it as the winning bidder did not seem inclined to share that
info with us.
