John chose the fabric for the back- it's as cool as the front!

I made this quilt for my son, John. It was started quite awhile ago and I had
to make it bigger when he got a growth spurt! To achieve this I joined a
block swap from the internet. I made 10 blocks, sent them to Grace in
Texas, and received 10 great blocks back from all over the USA. The
gold text I quilted in reads- "Made for John Abraham Allen by his Mother
Rebecca Combs. Started in 1999 -Inspired by the comet Hale-Bopp.
Finished in 2002. Includes blocks from Texas, California, Washington , NJ.
Quilted by Rebecca Combs in Iroquois Co. Illinois 60924" I won two blue
ribbons in the machine quilted category at the Ford and iroquois Co.
Fairs in 2002. Everyone fusses over the comets made from gold and
silver metallic threads and buttons. Click Images to Enlarge!
